Distracted. I ought to be at the desk earning the rent. Maybe it's the temperature. Feverish. Below zero. Zero drawing. Be more use, more productive stacking logs. Lighting fires. Shovelling coal.
Not the drawing I had in my head - but inspired by your card and envelope Rosemary. Knee jerk reaction maybe, but drawn with affection. That makes me realise, God help me, when I draw without affection. I ought to do a suite of drawings under the bnner of 'It's a Wonderful Life'. Christmas Eve 2010 watched it at the local picture house and then it came back to me in warm nostalgic drips ....... that I had seen the film before as a child, on the black and white rented TV in our small front room.
Oh I'd love to see a suite of drawings for it, David, please do! I saw that there is a coloured version of the film - saw a clip from it but I think somehow the black and white has more charm, not sure why that is… Always wanted to learn the Charleston when I was little because of that film, though. Can't quite picture myself doing it now, but I do like it.
Brilliant as ever, David. Absolutely made my day when I saw this, you know, thank you! Very best wishes for 2015 x
